Job summary

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is seeking a Senior Communications Project Engineer to lead post-sales technical delivery for APAC in Singapore. You will ensure ALE Enterprise Solutions are deployed with architectural integrity, high reliability, and security.

Role covers design and planning, translating high-level designs into actionable instructions, and coordinating across partners and internal teams to deliver end-to-end communications solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Customer Engineering, Project Lead or Senior Project Team member).
• 10+ years of project implementation and customer technical support experience in Omni-channel Contact Centers, UC&C, and Cloud transitions.
• ACFE (Alcatel-Lucent Certified Field Expert) level is mandatory; ACSE (System Expert) level is highly preferred.

• Target State Architecture: align with government and Smart Nation objectives, ensuring High Availability/DR.

What is my role

The Senior Communications Project Engineer is a critical post-sales technical lead dedicated to the APAC market. You will act as the technical integrator/expert ensuring that Enterprise Solutions—encompassing Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) core technologies—are deployed with architectural integrity, security, and high reliability. Your mission is to deploy and build the Communication Applications Solution to achieve/meet the complex business requirements with quality technical execution, ensuring the success of both Business Partner-led and Direct Touch projects.

Main Responsibilities

Solution Design & Planning

• End to End Infrastructure Evaluation: Review and analyze existing customer communications ecosystems (Legacy PBX, IP, or Hybrid) to assess their readiness for digital transformation and Solution Implementation.
• Target State Architecture: Propose specific approaches to align communications infrastructure with corporate and Singapore Government (Smart Nation) objectives, focusing on High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• Solution Implementation: Review and translate/re-fine the high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) documentations to actual technical instructions, configurable commands, parameters, customizable GUIs & steps on a mix of ALE products (OXE, CCD, VAA, VNA, Dispatch Console, OV8770 etc) and third-party integrations to deliver bespoke end-to-end solutions.

Technical Implementation & Delivery Support

• Technical Authority: Act as the lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the post-sales and implementation phases to resolve complex architectural bottlenecks.
• Product Enhancements: Interface with the ALE Comms Architect and Product House (Comms Business Unit) where needed such that the specific requirements/inputs to raise Product Enhancement Requests (PER) by the Comms Architect for critical feature gaps identified during deployment are captured correctly with no ambiguity.

Ecosystem & Partner Enablement

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead efforts across services, product specialists, and R&D to ensure the consistency of final deployed solutions.
• POC Support: Support Proof of Concept (POC) environments setup and testing lead by our Comms Architect; Demonstrating the interoperability of ALE solutions with existing customer workflows.
• Partner Mentorship: Share expertise to uplift the technical capabilities of ALE Business Partners (VARs/System Integrators) in Singapore.

Technical Expertise

• ALE Mastery: Deep architectural and technical configuration knowledge of the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise portfolio, specifically OmniPCX Enterprise (OXE), OmniVista, OpenTouch, and Rainbow (UCaaS/CPaaS).
• Contact Center Specialist: Proven experience in designing and deploying complex Contact Center solutions (ALE OmniTouch CC or Genesys integrations).
• Network & Security: Strong understanding of SIP Trunking, SBCs, VoIP security protocols, and integration with 802.1x network and security environments.
• Certifications: ACFE (Alcatel-Lucent Certified Field Expert) level or equivalent is mandatory. ACSE (System Expert) level is highly preferred.

• Crisis Management: Capability to work under pressure during high-stakes deployments or system outages, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
• Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written skills, with a focus on writing clear, professional technical documentation and proposals.
• Project Risk Acumen: Ability to identify Project risks and impacts during Project planning and execution with a focus on business outcomes rather than just technical features implementation.

Profile Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Overall Experience: 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Customer Engineering, Project Lead or Senior Project Team member).
• Domain Expertise: 10+ years of project implementation and customer technical support experience in the implementation, integration and migration of:
• Omni-channel Contact Centers (Voice, Email, Chat)
• Unified Communications & Collaboration (UC&C)
• Cloud Transition (Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud models)
• SIP Trunks and 3rd Party Integrations
• Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Government, Public Sector and enterprise landscape, including local regulatory requirements and competitive vendor alternatives.
• Accountability: Takes full ownership of the implementation integrity & security of a project from inception to final acceptance.
• Influence: Ability to negotiate and persuade technical stakeholders and partners toward best-practice security and communication standards.
