Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking a Banking & Compliance Specialist to strengthen governance of mortgage sales, ensure AML/KYC adherence, and coordinate risk assessments. You will support onboarding and ongoing competency testing while collaborating with Secured Loans, Group Compliance, and Audit teams.

The role emphasizes strong regulatory knowledge, stakeholder collaboration, and drive for process improvements within the Mortgage Sales Platform in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance and regulatory compliance within banking.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC processes for mortgage services.
• Ability to coordinate risk assessments and track remediation actions.
• Experience training onboarding and assessing competency of new hires.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sales governance and regulatory compliance across the Mortgage Sales Platform.
• Coordinate periodic risk assessments and report risk issues to management.
• Review key risk controls and identify gaps and enhancements.
• Support KYC screening and related admin processes for Mortgage Sales Bankers.
• Handle performance packs for Mortgage Sales Bankers.
• Train onboarding and conduct proficiency and AML trainings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Secured Loans, Group Compliance, Audit, and other units.
• Work on process and system enhancement projects.

Job Description

• Sales governance - ensure sales & services processes and controls are implemented. Ensure business unit's compliance of internal and external regulatory requirements. Actively engage stakeholders in sales process enhancement and participate and contribute in mortgage process re-engineering. AML, KYC and Audit advocate for Mortgage Sales Platform.
• Coordinating periodic risk assessments, identifying key operational risks, assessing control effectiveness, tracking remediation plans, and reporting risk issues to management.
• Conduct periodic reviews of key risk controls and identify control gaps, weaknesses, or areas for enhancement.
• Supports the KYC screening process for the Mortgage Sales Bankers and also support all the administrative and documentation processes.
• Performance Management - handling performance pack for the Mortgage Sales Bankers
• Training and Competency - managed and train the onboarding of new hires. Ensure they go through the 6 weeks training program managed in house and at training & development. Also ensure the new hires are tested and passed their proficiency test and situational tests before commencing sales. Conduct quarterly AML Training and Annual Proficiency Certification for the Mortgage Sales Platform.
• Stakeholders Collaboration - to work closely with stakeholders such as Secured Loans, PFS Credit, Business Risk & Control Management, Group Compliance, Audit, Business Management, Group Customer Experience and Advocacy, GTO and so on.
• Working on projects for process and system enhancements.
