Job summary

TALENT TRACE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Vessel Operator in Singapore to own post-fixture execution on voyage charters, maintain vessel files, and progressively take on chartering responsibilities alongside operations.

The role requires a Polytechnic Diploma or degree and at least 3 years' experience as a vessel operator or charterer, with understanding of voyage and time charter party contracts. Mandarin helpful for regional collaboration.

• At least 3 years as a vessel operator or charterer
• Understanding of voyage and time charter party contracts
• Experience resolving post-fixture and laytime disputes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a detailed, organised way of working with teams in Singapore and overseas
• Mandarin is preferred, to work with Mandarin-speaking counterparts

Talent Trace is partnering with a Grain Trading house in search of a Vessel Operator to be based in Singapore. You’ll own post-fixture execution on voyage charters, keep every vessel file in order, and step into chartering as you grow in the firm

What you’ll do

• Handle post-fixture operations for voyage charters, keeping vessel files in order and acting early so contracts run smoothly


• Prepare charter parties


• Prepare laytime statements and settle demurrage and despatch


• Handle month-end internal commission invoicing


• Support chartering, with the potential to take on the Chartering Executive role alongside operations


• Support the Division Head on chartering matters

What you’ll bring

• Polytechnic Diploma or Degree


• At least 3 years as a vessel operator or charterer at a shipping or trading company


• Understanding of voyage and time charter party contracts


• Experience resolving post-fixture and laytime disputes
