Job summary

UnlockLand in Singapore is seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our Singapore team. You will work directly with clients to understand planning workflows, shape project solutions, demonstrate our platform, and translate feedback into product improvements.

You will collaborate with product, design and engineering to ensure our AI-powered platform solves real planning and development challenges for developers, planners, and government organisations.

Qualifications

• Academic or professional background in urban planning, urban design, architecture, real estate development or related built-environment discipline.
• Hands-on experience delivering urban planning, master planning or pre-development projects.
• Strong ability to develop planning concepts and present practical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with clients to understand planning, land development and pre-development requirements.
• Lead discovery meetings, workshops, product demonstrations and project presentations.
• Develop clear planning concepts, development scenarios, feasibility studies and proposals.
• Translate client requirements into actionable product requirements.
• Support delivery of client POCs from requirements to final acceptance.
• Review planning policies, zoning, development controls and site constraints.
• Test the product from a planner’s perspective and identify improvements.

About the Role

We are looking for an Urban Planner with strong planning proposal, project delivery and client communication capabilities.

This is not a traditional planning role focused only on reports and drawings. You will work directly with clients to understand their planning and development workflows, help shape project solutions, demonstrate our platform, and turn real client feedback into product improvements.

You will work closely with our product, design and engineering teams to ensure the platform solves practical problems faced by planners, developers and government organisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with clients to understand their planning, land development and pre-development requirements.
• Lead discovery meetings, workshops, product demonstrations and project presentations.
• Develop clear planning concepts, development scenarios, feasibility studies and project proposals.
• Translate client requirements and planning workflows into actionable product requirements.
• Support the delivery of client POCs, from initial requirements and solution design through demonstration, feedback and final acceptance.
• Review planning policies, zoning requirements, development controls and site constraints.
• Test the product from a professional planner’s perspective and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with product designers and engineers to improve features, workflows and user experience.
• Prepare professional presentations, planning materials and client-facing deliverables.
• Follow up with clients after delivery, monitor product usage and collect structured feedback.

Requirements

• Academic or professional background in urban planning, urban design, architecture, real estate development or another relevant built-environment discipline.
• Hands-on experience delivering real urban planning, master planning, development planning or pre-development projects.
• Strong ability to develop planning concepts, evaluate development options and present practical recommendations.
• Excellent client-facing communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Native-level or fully professional English, with the ability to confidently lead meetings, workshops and presentations.
• Ability to explain complex planning and technical information in clear, simple language.
• Comfortable working with product designers, software engineers and commercial teams.
• Able to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment and manage multiple client projects.
• Strong interest in AI, planning technology and the future of urban development.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with property developers, planning consultancies, architecture firms, government agencies or statutory boards.
• Experience in land acquisition, development feasibility, site assessment or pre-development strategy.
• Experience participating in client workshops, tenders, POCs or enterprise software implementation.
• Familiarity with planning systems and development processes in Singapore or other international markets.
• Experience using GIS, planning software, data platforms or AI tools.
• A portfolio or examples of completed planning and development projects.
