Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a insurance and/or reinsurance environment.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a business or operational environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and complete work efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

This is not a traditional administration role. As Underwriting Operations & Automation Specialist, you will play a key role in how reinsurance business is captured, managed, reported, and improved. You will lead a small business support function, work closely with senior underwriting stakeholders, and help shape more efficient ways of working through systems, data, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

This is an opportunity for someone with insurance or reinsurance experience who is ready to step into a broader leadership role — one that combines technical understanding, operational discipline, stakeholder management, and a strong interest in using AI to improve business processes.

The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You are highly organised, detail-focused, and confident working in a technical insurance or reinsurance environment. You understand that accurate information, clear processes, and strong follow-through are essential to effective underwriting operations.

You are comfortable working with systems, data, documentation, and multiple stakeholders. You can prioritise competing demands, keep processes moving, and support others to work consistently and efficiently.

Importantly, you bring practical experience using AI tools. You are not just interested in AI as a concept — you have used AI or automation tools to improve the way work is completed, whether through drafting, checking, reporting, analysis, workflow improvement, or reducing manual effort.

Essential

• 3–5 years’ experience within an insurance and/or reinsurance environment.
• Practical experience using AI tools in a business or operational environment.
