Job summary

NKY FREIGHT FORWARDING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Transport Planner to plan daily transport jobs, optimize routes, and monitor movements. You will handle ad-hoc requests, allocate appropriate vehicles, and ensure compliance with SOPs and local regulations.

The role requires 2–3 years in transport planning or logistics, strong coordination, and good communication with drivers and clients. The position is on-site with opportunities to contribute to efficient delivery operations.

Qualifications

Diploma/NITEC or equivalent qualification.
2-3 years of experience in transport planning, trucking, logistics or freight forwarding preferred.
Knowledge of Singapore roads and local delivery locations is preferred.
Basic understanding of import/export documentation and customs permits is preferred.
Knowledge of DG transportation requirements will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

Plan and assign daily transport jobs to drivers based on location, priority, vehicle availability, and requirements.
Optimize truck utilization and route planning to reduce empty runs and mileage.
Arrange ad-hoc, urgent and same-day transportation requests where possible.
Ensure appropriate vehicle and equipment are assigned according to cargo type and customer requirements.
Monitor drivers and vehicle movements throughout the day and follow up on collection, delivery and POD status.
Update customers and internal teams on delivery status and operational issues; escalate major disruptions when needed.
