Job summary

JOB EXPRESS SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Transport Planner Cum Controller to organise daily transport operations from Woodlands. You will schedule drivers, assign vehicles and plan routes to optimise truck utilisation while complying with SOPs and Singapore regulations.

The role requires proactive coordination of incidents, delays and DG/safety requirements, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily transport jobs and assign drivers based on delivery locations, priorities and vehicle availability.
• Plan routes and optimize truck utilization to reduce empty trips, waiting time and unnecessary mileage.
• Arrange urgent, ad-hoc and same-day transportation requests when required.
• Assign suitable vehicles and equipment according to cargo type and customer requirements.
• Coordinate DG, reefer, overweight and special cargo transportation where applicable.
• Monitor drivers and vehicle movements throughout the day.
• Follow up on collection, delivery and POD status.
• Coordinate with drivers regarding traffic delays, vehicle issues and changes in customer instructions.
• Ensure drivers receive complete delivery instructions and required documents before deployment.
• Update customers and internal teams on delivery status, delays and operational issues.
• Ensure transport operations comply with company SOPs and Singapore regulations.
• Ensure proper DG transportation and safety requirements are followed.
• Report accidents, cargo damage, spills, breakdowns and other incidents promptly.
