Job summary

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) invites applications for a Process Engineer to monitor in-line SPC, address defects and equipment abnormalities, and lead productivity-improvement projects for new processes in a semiconductor foundry environment.

You will establish process parameters for equipment, evaluate new materials and processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process stability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
• At least 2 years of semiconductor foundry module process experience.
• Experience with 22/28nm and below advanced technology nodes is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of process development, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Proven leadership skills in leading cross-functional teams and managing projects related to process improvement or technology transfer.
• Ability to analyze complex process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Experience with SPC, 8D reporting, DOE, FMEA and PMO preferred.

Responsibilities

• Day to Day monitoring and ownership to timely address in-line SPC/defect/Equipment abnormality, handling and disposition.
• Manage projects in productivity improvement, particularly for new processes, using process characteristic analytical tool to improve process condition and technology.
• Establish process parameters for a variety of semiconductor equipment to ensure line stability.
• Evaluation and development of new equipment/materials/process.
