Job summary

NTUC Health Co-operative Limited (NTUC Health) is seeking a Therapy Assistant to support Therapists in safe resident handling and treatment setup. You will help prepare the treatment area, resident, equipment, and materials to facilitate smooth therapy sessions.

The role involves assisting in therapy and fitness activities, transporting residents, supervising exercises, and ensuring equipment and spaces are clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Google Suite Applications.
• Minimum WSQ Certificate in Therapy Services.

Responsibilities

• Assist Therapists or exercise trainers in therapy or fitness sessions.
• Transport residents to treatment areas and secure them on equipment.
• Motivate and assist residents in exercises and activities under supervision.
• Conduct group exercise sessions such as circuit training or OT groups.
• Observe residents during treatment and report progress to therapists.
• Maintain tidiness and disinfect therapy areas and equipment after use.
• Ensure adequate stock of rehab supplies for the department.

The Therapy Assistant will assist the Therapists in safe resident handling and care during treatments. Your responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of the department such as preparing the treatment area, the resident, equipment, and materials.

You will need to

• Assist the Therapist or exercise trainer in all activities of therapy treatment or fitness programme
• Transport residents safely to and from treatment areas, secure them into or onto therapy equipment
• Motivate and assist residents/clients in practicing exercises and functional activities, under broad supervision
• Conduct group exercises such as circuit training or Occupational Therapy (OT) groups
• Observe clients during treatment to note client's responses and progress
• Report to a Therapist or Exercise Trainer for quality care improvement
• Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of the therapy area and disinfect equipment after treatment
• Ensure adequate stock of rehab supplies and expendables for the department
