Alexandra Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering rehabilitation services, prepare equipment, and help maintain a safe, efficient therapy department. You will supervise Healthcare Assistants, manage administrative tasks, and ensure accurate records using hospital information systems.
A minimum NITEC or diploma is required, and experience in healthcare is a plus.
The Therapy Assistant supports therapists in the delivery of rehabilitation services by assisting with patient therapy activities, preparing therapeutic equipment, maintaining treatment areas, and ensuring the smooth operation of the therapy department. The role also provides administrative support and assists in the supervision of Healthcare Assistants to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Support therapists in the implementation of rehabilitation programmes and therapeutic interventions.
Prepare, set up, and maintain therapeutic equipment to ensure therapy sessions run effectively and safely.
Assist and supervise patients in performing prescribed therapeutic activities and exercises under the direction of therapists.
Support the fabrication, fitting, and preparation of orthoses and rehabilitation devices as required.
Maintain therapy areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a clean, organised, and safe environment.
Conduct routine inventory checks and coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, replacement, or disposal when necessary.
Coordinate patient transportation and workflow, including arranging porter services and assisting with patient transfers when required.
Provide administrative support, including managing enquiries, maintaining records, and handling departmental documentation.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient and operational records using relevant information systems.
Support the supervision and guidance of Healthcare Assistants to ensure effective departmental operations.
Maintain required clinical competencies and participate in competency assessments and continuous learning activities.
Minimum NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Relevant healthcare or rehabilitation experience will be an advantage.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work effectively with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Basic computer literacy and administrative skills.
This is a 1-year contract position. Renewal of the contract will be subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
