Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking an Assistant/Technical Superintendent (Tanker) to manage vessel classifications, ensure operational readiness, and oversee maintenance. You will coordinate with regulatory bodies and shore teams to keep ships compliant and safe during operations.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering, a Maritime Studies degree or equivalent, and at least 2 years in a similar role; sea-going experience is a plus, with strong MS Office skills and negotiation capabilities.

Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering is required.
Recognized degree in Maritime Studies or relevant qualification.
Sea-going experience is an added advantage but not required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Demonstrated capability in difficult negotiations.
Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

Familiar with the classification rules for the assigned vessels.
Maintain the assigned vessels operationally ready and meet technical standards at all times.
Ensure compliance with rules, regulations and requirements of the flag state and other national states, including classification and oil terminals.
Manage downtime to expedite return to service and monitor vessel performance for efficient operation.
Collaborate with HSSE team in incident investigations and assist in reporting.
