Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking a Technical Superintendent for Tankers (Oil or Product or Chemical). The role entails maintaining vessels to Class Society, Flag State, and Oil Major standards, executing maintenance plans, and overseeing repairs and dry-dock work.

The ideal candidate holds a COC Class 1 and has 2–5 years ashore in tanker companies, with strong English communication and familiarity with vettings and inspections.

Qualifications

  • COC Class 1 certificate holder with sailing experience on oil/product/chemical tankers.
  • 2–5 years’ experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent in tanker companies.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Familiar with Oil Majors vettings and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vessels to the requirements of Classification Society, Flag state, Port State, Oil majors and state regulations.
  • Execute planned maintenance system and ensure compliance.
  • Approve and monitor repairs, prepare purchase orders and works orders.
  • Prepare dry-docking/repair specifications and monitor progress.
  • Maintain vessel budgets and meet operational standards set by Owners.
  • Carry out internal audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and close-out reports.
  • Attend inspections by Class Society, Flag State, Port State, Underwriters and Oil Majors.
  • Liaise with Terminal Representatives, Charterers, Agents, Operators and Fujairah Freezone Officials.
  • Assist Crew Department in coordinating crew matters.
