Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine engineering or technical vessel management.
• Strong knowledge of vessel machinery, PMS, dry-docking operations, and regulations.
• Experience overseeing budgets, repair projects, and contractor performance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical management and operational performance of assigned container vessels.
• Monitor vessel maintenance programmes and equipment performance to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate dry-docking, repairs and major maintenance within budgets.
• Evaluate vessel technical conditions through inspections and performance assessments.
• Ensure compliance with international regulations, class and flag state requirements.
• Liaise with Masters, Chief Engineers, shipyards, and service providers on technical matters.
• Develop and manage vessel maintenance budgets, repair expenditures and spare parts procurement.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting to onboard teams.
• Analyse vessel performance data and fuel consumption to identify improvements.
• Facilitate investigations, audits and continuous improvement for fleet safety and efficiency.
