Job summary

Talent-Merge Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Shipping/Marine Operations Manager to oversee the marine operations of assigned container vessels, ensuring safe, compliant fleet performance and alignment with company policies and international standards.

You will coordinate with Masters, Chief Officers, port authorities and stakeholders to maintain efficient operations, conduct inspections, lead safety audits, and drive continuous improvement for safety and regulatory compliance across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related maritime discipline.
• Valid Certificate of Competency Class 1 (COC 1).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine operations or ship management, including seagoing roles as Master Mariner or senior deck officer.
• Strong knowledge of container vessel operations, cargo stowage and securing, navigation safety, ballast water management, and international regulations (ISM/ISPS/SOLAS/MARPOL).

Responsibilities

• Oversee marine operations of assigned container vessels to ensure safe, compliant fleet operations.
• Monitor vessel performance, including navigation safety, cargo handling, voyage planning, and port operations.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections, marine audits, and onboard assessments.
• Ensure adherence to international maritime regulations and industry standards.
• Liaise with Masters, Chief Officers, port authorities and stakeholders on operational matters.
• Provide guidance on navigation, cargo stowage, ballast management, and safety procedures.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate vessel inspections, PSC examinations, audits, and vetting activities.
• Review reports and KPIs to identify efficiency gains and risk reductions.
• Lead crew competency assessments and onboard training for safety and effectiveness.
