Job summary

Comaea Consulting is seeking a Technical Superintendent for a new opportunity with a leading MNC in the shipping sector. You will manage 4–6 merchant vessels, ensuring safe operations, routine and preventive maintenance, and adherence to international marine requirements.

You will oversee inspections, dry-docking, and budget-focused resource planning, while guiding onboard crews and shore teams to optimize performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Marine Engineer with COC Class 1 (unlimited) is required.
• Sailing experience as Chief Engineer on tanker vessels for at least 6 months.

Technical Superintendent - Tanker

ORGANIZATION:

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be in-charge of managing the technical and operational performance of 4-6 merchant vessels. Your key role is to ensure safe and efficient operations of the company's vessels, their routine and preventive maintenance, and that all international marine requirements are complied with.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and supervise technical aspects of vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure vessels' technical readiness and reliability.
• Collaborate with various departments to optimize vessel performance, budget management, and resource allocation.
• Oversee dry-docking, repairs, and maintenance schedules, ensuring cost-effective and timely completion.
• Develop and implement technical guidelines, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crews and shore-based personnel.

YOUR PROFILE:

• You must be a qualified Marine Engineer, COC Class 1, with sailing experience on tanker vessels as a Chief Engineer for at least 6 months.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a shore based position as a Superintendent managing Tanker vessels is necessary.
• Experience in managing dry docking at shipyards is preferred.
• Business acumen with capability to manage the budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels.
• People are oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams.
• Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• You have solid technical skills and enjoy solving challenging situations.
• Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
