Job summary

The GMP Group, on behalf of a reputable Shipping MNC in Singapore, is seeking a Technical Superintendent for Oil, Product or Chemical Tankers to join their offshore fleet.

You will ensure vessel maintenance, inspections, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with Class, Flag State, and oil majors while driving risk management and cost control. Strong English and tanker background are essential.

Qualifications

• COC Class 1 with sailing experience on tankers.
• 2–5 years experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent in tanker companies is preferred.
• Good spoken and written English is required.
• Familiar with Oil Majors vettings and inspections requirements.
• Analytical, independent, results-oriented and pro-active.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vessels to Classification Society, Flag State, Port State, Oil majors and state regulations.
• Execute planned maintenance system and ensure compliance.
• Approve and monitor repairs, prepare purchase orders and works orders.
• Prepare dry-docking/repair specifications and monitor work progress.
• Maintain vessel budgets and meet operational standards.
• Carry out internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Job description

Our client is a reputable Shipping MNC. Currently they are seeking a well qualified candidate to join them as "Technical Superintendent (Oil or Product or Chemical Tanker)".

In this role, you will be responsible for the following :

• Maintain vessels to the requirement of Classification Society, Flag state, Port State, Oil majors and state regulations that the vessels are plying.
• Execute planned maintenance system and ensure compliance.
• Approve and monitor repairs, prepare purchase order and works order.
• Prepare dry-docking / repair specifications and monitor work progress.
• Maintain vessel allocated budget and meet operational standard as required by Owners.
• Carry out internal audits, risk assessment, incident investigation and closing out report.
• Attend to all inspections by Class Society, Flag State, Port State, Underwriters and Oil Majors.
• Liaise with Terminal Representative, Charterers, Agents, Operators and Fujairah Freezone Official.
• Assist Crew Department in coordinating crew matters.

Requirements:

• COC Class 1 holders with sailing experience on tankers
• Ideally 2 to 5 years experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent in tanker companies
• Possess good spoken and written communication skills in English language
• Familiar with Oil Majors vettings and inspections requirements
• Analytical, able to work independently, results oriented, resourceful and pro-active
