Job summary

Pepperl+Fuchs is seeking a Technical Specialist to ensure equipment, processes and materials flow smoothly from one MO to another within a TPU. You will verify readiness, perform setups and change-overs, and coordinate with Production and support teams to resolve issues.

The role requires hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, knowledge of SMT/PCBA environments, and a strong focus on quality and 5S/safety practices.

Qualifications

  • NITEC in Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/ Manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience in machine setup and changeovers.
  • 1st-piece verification/buy-off experience.
  • Troubleshooting and alarm clearing at first level.
  • Experience in SMT or PCBA environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Confirming / verifying the availability of equipment and processes.
  • Communicating with Production, M+S, QM, IE, FM on readiness of equipment.
  • Performing equipment setup, change-over and corrections per documentation.
  • Performing buy-off / 1st piece verification to meet quality requirements.
  • Reporting and escalating issues related to equipment and processes to support teams.
  • Supporting equipment relocation / new line setup during production re-layout.

Technical Specialist
Role Purpose

Ensuring the readiness and availability of the equipment (machines, fixtures, tools, adapters, workstations, test systems, etc.), processes (assembly, test, molding, cable harnessing, etc.) and material (confirm preparation, form factor, visual, etc.) from one Manufacturing Order (MO) to another Manufacturing Order and beyond within a Total Production Unit (TPU).

Role Responsibilities
  • Confirming / verifying on the availability of equipment and processes
  • Communicating and work directly with relevant teams (Production, M+S, QM, IE, FM …) on the readiness of equipment and processes when needed
  • Performing equipment and process setup, change-over and correction as per documentation and procedure, follow production plan independently. Record setup, change-over and corrections
  • Performing buy-off / 1st piece verification to confirm the readiness of the equipment, the process and the material to meet the quality requirement and adherence to documents
  • Reporting / escalating and following up all issues (including deviations) related to equipment, processes and material to relevant teams for the support, which cannot be corrected by the setter
  • Supporting equipment relocation / new line setup during production re-layout activities
  • Being the intermediary person between Service Teams + Production Operators / Production Specialists
  • Maintaining the 5S and Safety (adhering to requirements of cleanliness for equipment)
  • Continuous supervision and monitoring of Production Technology Processes (based on documentation / minimum requirements)
  • Production Setter replace worn out parts and follow-up with M+S on parts availability (M+S is responsible for re-ordering and replenishment / replacement)
  • Performing simple ad-hoc maintenance tasks (screw is loose / small repairs / replacement of worn-out parts) as per documentation
  • Performing any other works or projects as assigned by the superior
  • Knows how to operate the machine/tester and clear machine stoppages and alarms safely
  • Accountable for the line's overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to meet production and efficiency targets
  • Capable of conducting machine readiness and adherence checks and performing first-level troubleshooting to resolve operational issues
Role Requirements
  • NITEC in Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/ Manufacturing Experience operating and supporting manufacturing equipment and production processes
  • Hands-on experience in machine setup, changeovers & 1st-piece verification/buy-off
  • Proven track record in 1st-level troubleshooting & alarm clearing
  • Experience in SMT (surface mount technology) or PCBA environments is strongly preferred
