Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Technical Officer (Mechanical / Power Plant) to support preventive maintenance and plant overhauls in Singapore. You will prepare work orders, order consumables, and oversee contractors to meet specifications.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2–3 years in power plants, marine, or oil &gas, and MOM-approved safety, confined-space and lifting certifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• MOM-accredited workplace safety, confined space, and lifting supervisor courses.

Responsibilities

• Arrange consumables, tools and equipment for maintenance activities.
• Prepare Work Orders and permits for plant overhaul.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and condition monitoring on balance of plant equipment.
• Supervise contract workers to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Perform gas-free checks for confined spaces and supervise lifting operations.
• Serve as authorised confined space assessor / supervisor.

About the job Technical Officer (Mechanical / Power Plant)

Responsibilities

• Arrange necessary consumables, special tools and equipment in preparation for the maintenance activities.
• Prepare Work Order in requisition of Permit-To-Work before performing plant overhaul.
• Carry out preventive maintenance such as routine and planned overhauls & inspections and other condition monitoring activities for balance of plant equipment such as CW intake & outfall structures, culverts, band screens, CW pumps, electro chlorination plants, water treatment plants, diesel and fuel oil storage tanks, day oil tanks, air compressors and receivers, etc.
• Supervise contract workers to ensure works carried out complying with contracts specifications.
• Perform gas free check for confined space and hot work.
• Serve as authorised confined space assessor / supervisor.
• Serve as authorised lifting supervisor during crane operation.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Preferably with 2-3 years experience in power plant, marine or oil and gas industry
• Courses in workplace safety, confined space, lifting supervisor accredited by MOM
• The offered job grade/designation will be based on candidates experience, competencies and skillsets
