Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is seeking a Technical Lead / System Analyst to oversee IT application development, maintenance, and infrastructure for equities trading systems. You will gather business requirements from front office, trading desks, operations, and risk teams and translate them into BRD/FRD and user stories.

The role demands hands-on experience with equity and FX trading platforms, cloud deployments, and a track record in delivering large-scale, high-availability systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Over 12 years of professional experience including 8+ years in software development, BA/SA, and project or change delivery in finance.
• Hands-on experience with Equity and FX trading systems and market data platforms.
• Strong technical and platform expertise in Equity/FX trading systems, market data, SaaS/cloud, and mobile development.
• MS SQL Server, Oracle, Windows, Linux, shell scripting, messaging queues, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Java/J2EE, FIX, CORBA, React Native, iOS/Android deployment, and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT application development, maintenance, delivery, and infrastructure setup.
• Lead requirement analysis for Equities trading systems (OMS/EMS, execution, post-trade).
• Refine business requirements with front office, trading desks, operations, and risk teams.
• Translate requirements into BRD/FRD/user stories and ensure traceability.
• Provide SME guidance on equities trading workflows including OMS/EMS and market connectivity.
• Define end-to-end functional solutions across trading platforms and integrations.
• Ensure alignment with EA, data models, and integration frameworks.
• Validate designs for scalability and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to implement requirements.
• Manage projects with waterfall and Scrum methodologies.
• Coordinate across application teams to resolve dependencies and SIT/UAT support.
• Liaise with vendors on specs, delivery, testing, and implementation.
