Job summary

Argyll Scott Singapore is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to uphold reliability across the technology environment. You will handle production support, incident management, monitoring, and automation, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Customer Support and Business Operations to resolve issues and improve processes.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in technical operations, strong troubleshooting, scripting and cloud experience, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in Technical Operations or similar roles with large-scale production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with ticketing systems and operational monitoring tools.
• Strong programming skills in .NET, Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch or ELK.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell or Shell scripting.
• Proficiency with SQL, Excel or data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL, Agile or DevOps methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the day-to-day operational performance and availability of systems and services, identifying and responding to operational issues and service disruptions.
• Participate in an availability incident rotation and provide technical support to customer service engineers when required.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, coordinating with relevant teams during incidents and escalations.
• Conduct root cause analysis following incidents and implement appropriate preventive actions.
• Develop scripts and tools aimed at preventing recurring incidents and improving operational efficiency.
• Review operational workflows and processes, identify inefficiencies and recommend opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support adherence to established operational processes.
• Monitor operational KPIs and service metrics, analyse performance trends, risks and gaps, and prepare dashboards and management reporting.
• Work with Engineering, Product, Customer Support and Business Operations stakeholders to provide technical support, operational guidance, status updates and recommendations.
• Support operational risk management, security and policy compliance, including audit and governance activities where required.
