Job summary

An established insurance organisation in Singapore is seeking an experienced P&C Underwriter to step into a Team Lead role. You will lead and support a team across a diversified Commercial P&C portfolio, underwriting complex risks with sound pricing and portfolio quality.

You will coach and develop underwriters, manage renewals and referrals, build broker relationships, and work with senior management on underwriting strategy and portfolio growth.

Qualifications

• Strong Commercial P&C underwriting experience in Singapore.
• Technical underwriting exposure across multiple P&C lines (Property, Casualty/Liability, Engineering, Financial Lines).
• Good understanding of underwriting principles, pricing, risk assessment and portfolio management.

The Role

• Lead and support a team of underwriters across a diversified Commercial P&C portfolio.
• Underwrite and review complex risks across multiple commercial lines, ensuring sound risk selection, pricing and portfolio quality.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and support to underwriters within the team.
• Manage portfolio performance, renewals, referrals and underwriting governance.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and other key market partners.
• Work closely with senior management on underwriting strategy, business development and profitable portfolio growth.

What We're Looking For

• Strong Commercial P&C underwriting experience within the Singapore insurance market.
• Technical underwriting exposure across multiple P&C lines such as Property, Casualty/Liability, Engineering, Financial Lines or other commercial risks.
• Good understanding of underwriting principles, pricing, risk assessment and portfolio management.
• Strong broker relationships and knowledge of the Singapore commercial insurance market.
• Existing leadership experience is advantageous, although experienced Senior Underwriters ready to step into their first formal Team Lead role are also encouraged to apply.
