Job summary

ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors in Singapore is seeking a proactive systems engineer to join the core technical team. You will contribute to design, integration, and testing of communications, vehicle platform electronics, and electro-optical payloads for mission-critical platforms.

You will collaborate across RF, networking, power, and sensor subsystems, perform system trade-offs, and support FAT/SAT and field trials. Travel may be required; Singaporean candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, Mechatronics or related engineering.
• 2 years’ experience in RF/communications, vehicle electronics or EO/sensor systems preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and system integration.
• Experience with EMI/EMC and environmental testing advantageous.
• Hands-on with test/measurement equipment RF/electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architectures for communications and sensor payloads.
• Define interfaces between subsystems (RF, networking, power, sensors).
• Develop RF/communication systems and data links.
• Configure IP networking and related hardware/software.
• Perform FAT/SAT and testing across domains.
• Produce design reviews, technical docs and reports.

Key member of the technical team responsible for the design, integration, and implementation of communication systems, vehicle platform electronics, and electro-optical subsystems. The role spans system engineering, integration, testing, and deployment across mobile and mission-critical platforms.

System Engineering & Architecture

• Understand contractual and project requirements; develop end-to-end system architectures covering communications, vehicle electronics, and electro-optical payloads
• Define interfaces between subsystems (RF, networking, vehicle power systems, sensors, EO/IR payloads)
• Perform technical trade-offs and ensure designs meet performance, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Communications & Network Systems

• Design and implement RF and communication systems (e.g. radio, satellite, microwave, data links)
• Configure and integrate IP-based networking systems (TCP/IP) and associated hardware/software
• Conduct link budget analysis, RF performance validation, and interference assessment

Vehicle Platform Electronics

• Design and integrate vehicle electrical/electronic systems, including power distribution and conditioning, control systems and embedded controllers and interfaces with onboard mission systems
• Ensure compliance with automotive/military vehicle standards (EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal, environmental)
• Support system installation, harnessing, grounding, and integration on vehicle platforms

Electro-Optical Systems

• Support integration and testing of electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems, sensors, and imaging payloads
• Perform functional verification, calibration and alignment checks
• Interface EO systems with display, control, and data communication subsystems

Testing, Verification & Commissioning

• Develop and execute test plans for system, subsystem, and integration levels
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and field trials
• Use test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and optical test tools
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across domains (RF, network, electronics, EO systems)

Documentation & Project Support

• Produce design documents, interface control documents (ICDs), test reports, and user manuals
• Prepare and deliver technical design reviews and presentations
• Support project timelines and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and customers

Qualities We Value

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, Mechatronics or related Engineering discipline
• Preferably 2 years’ experience in RF/communications systems, Vehicle electronics / embedded systems, Electro-optical or sensor systems (preferred)
• Knowledge in Telecommunications systems (RF, satellite, microwave, digital comms), Vehicle electrical/electronic architecture and integration, Electro-optical systems (EO/IR, cameras, sensors)
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and system integration
• Experience with EMI/EMC considerations and environmental testing is advantageous
• Hands‑on experience with test and measurement equipment (RF and/or electronics)
• Basic understanding of embedded systems, control systems or CAN bus is a plus
• Project management exposure is advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Self‑motivated, analytical, and able to work independently and in teams
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
• Willing to travel short notice
• Working location is in Ang Mo Kio
