Job summary

ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors, based in Singapore, invites a Senior / Embedded Software Engineer to join our defence-focused team. You will develop and deliver waveform-centric software, working with solution architects and hardware teams to ensure end-to-end integration.

You should be proficient in C/C++, RTOS, DSP concepts, and FPGA/DSP interactions, with a track record of validating embedded software and contributing to architecture. Willingness to travel if required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Embedded C/C++ development with RTOS knowledge.
• Strong DSP fundamentals and FPGA/DSP interaction.
• Experience with FPGA/DSP APIs, registers, memory-mapped I/O.
• Familiar with waveform or signal-processing architectures.
• Experience verifying waveform behavior with simulation and tests.
• Proficient in debugging embedded software across hardware interfaces.
• Ability to document software interfaces clearly.
• Willingness to travel overseas 3–6 months when required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software modules for waveform processing.
• Implement software for waveform modes, sequencing, control flows, and DSP/FPGA coordination.
• Contribute to embedded software architecture aligned with system design.
• Collaborate with DSP, FPGA, RF, and System Engineering teams for end-to-end integration.
• Participate in reviews of embedded designs and waveform APIs, provide feedback.
• Debug, validate, and optimize embedded software for correctness and performance.
• Assist in technical trade-off analysis and engineering decision-making.
• Support system bring-up, integration, and testing across hardware/software boundaries.
• Produce and maintain documentation of software architecture and interfaces.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers where applicable.

Senior / Embedded Software Engineer, you will support customers in the Defence sector by contributing to the development and delivery of waveform centric systems that enhance Singapore’s Defence and security capabilities. Working closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Technical Leads, you will be part of an engineering team involved in the development, integration, testing, and deployment of waveform processing solutions as part of end‑to‑end project execution.

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software modules supporting waveform processing systems.

• Implement software components for waveform modes, sequencing, control flows, and coordination with DSP/FPGA blocks.

• Contribute to embedded software architecture in alignment with overall system and waveform design.

• Work closely with DSP, FPGA, RF, and System Engineering teams to support end to end software integration.

• Participate in reviews of embedded software designs, control logic, and waveform APIs, providing technical feedback.

• Perform debugging, validation, and optimization of embedded software to ensure functional correctness and performance.

• Assist in technical trade off analysis and contribute to engineering decision making within defined scope.

• Support systems bring up, integration, and testing activities across hardware and software boundaries.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation covering software architecture, interfaces, and control behavior.

• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior engineers where applicable.

Qualities We Value

• Knowledge in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering, or related field.

• Strong working knowledge of embedded software development using C/C++, with understanding of RTOS concepts.

• Good understanding of DSP fundamentals and embedded software interaction with FPGA/DSP waveform processing blocks.

• Hands on experience controlling FPGA/DSP functions via APIs, registers, memory mapped interfaces, or messaging mechanisms.

• Familiarity with software architecture for waveform or signal processing systems.

• Experience validating and verifying waveform behavior using simulation, test, and verification tools.

• Familiar with profiling, debugging, and troubleshooting tools for embedded software systems.

• Experience debugging software–hardware integration issues across embedded processors, FPGA, DSP, and RF subsystems.

• Able to analyze technical issues systematically and document software behavior and interfaces clearly.

• Willing to travel overseas for 3 to 6 months when required
