Job summary

ALMR BUSINESS CONSULTING GROUP PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced System Analyst to support analysis, design and implementation of regional payment solutions in the banking domain.

You will bridge business and technical teams, focusing on Java-based applications, documentation, and end-to-end project lifecycle. The role requires strong SDLC expertise, vendor management, and the ability to define functional specifications and technical designs for medium to large-scale deployments across regional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–7 years of System Analysis and/or Technical Analysis experience in the banking industry.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Java libraries, and Oracle Database.
• Hands-on experience preparing functional specifications and technical design documentation.
• Experience across the full SDLC, including medium to large-scale system implementations.
• Strong technical documentation, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise between business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong experience in vendor management.
• Experience in project planning and leading small teams is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis of Java-based applications, including system architecture, end-to-end flows, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and vendors to define functional and technical solutions.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including System Design Documents and Technical Specifications.
• Recommend solution improvements based on industry standards and best practices.
• Review vendor deliverables and provide quality assurance, feedback, and recommendations.
• Review test plans (Unit Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, SIT, UAT, etc.) and support testing activities through implementation.
• Analyse existing SDLC processes and recommend continuous improvements while reporting to project stakeholders.
• Review source code and write SQL queries where required.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus (CBPR+) standards and payment messaging.
• Familiarity with MEPS+ (MAS Electronic Payment System) and domestic payment processing.
• Understanding of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX message formats, including message mapping, migration, and payment flows.
• Experience with payment systems, financial messaging, or banking transformation projects involving cross-border and domestic payments.
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements related to payment messaging standards and financial institutions.
