Job Title: Certified Swimming Coach and Educator – Children & Adults

Location: Singapore

Salary Range: SGD 10,700 – 14,300 per month

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced certified swimming coach and educator to deliver high-quality swimming instruction and water-safety programmes. The role focuses on structured lesson delivery for children and adults across beginner to competitive levels, with strong emphasis on technical stroke development, water confidence, safety, and progressive skill building in a professional training environment. You will also be expected to contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to create camps and build synergy between different groups and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons for children and adults, from complete beginners through to competitive swimmers.
• Develop stroke technique, water confidence, endurance, coordination, and overall swimming performance through progressive drills and lesson plans.
• Assess individual ability levels and adapt coaching methods, drills, and lesson plans to meet different learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor swimmer progress, provide clear and constructive feedback, and support continuous improvement and goal setting.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and professional training environment while consistently applying water-safety practices and standards.
• Supervise pool facilities and uphold high standards of operational readiness and safety (drawing on lifeguard experience where relevant).
• Respond to emergencies and support rescue, first-aid, and pool-safety procedures as required.
• Communicate effectively with swimmers and stakeholders; demonstrate leadership in group and individual coaching settings.
• Track attendance, progress, and performance records; contribute to programme development and continuous improvement of coaching standards.
• Develop business opportunities by identifying and creating swimming camps, holiday programmes, and other initiatives.
• Look for and implement ways to create synergy between different groups, programmes, and learner segments to enhance overall offering and engagement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum seven years of professional swimming coaching experience, preferably in Singapore, working with both children and adults across beginner to competitive levels.
• Certified Swimming Coach (or equivalent recognised certification).
• Strong practical skills in technical instruction, stroke technique development, water confidence building, endurance training, and lesson planning.
• Proven ability to assess swimmers, adapt coaching approaches, and provide constructive feedback that drives progression.
• Solid foundation in water safety, lifeguarding principles, and emergency response (Bronze Medallion or equivalent preferred; CPR + AED certification required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Education (Secondary Education or related) and licensed educator status preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and commitment to creating safe, positive, and performance-focused learning environments.
• Experience maintaining high standards of pool safety and operational readiness is an advantage.
• Ability and willingness to contribute to business development, including creating camps and fostering synergy across groups and programmes.

Preferred / Additional Assets

• Prior experience as a pool lifeguard or in a formal water-safety/lifeguarding role.
• Competitive swimming background or medallist experience at national or collegiate level.
• Familiarity with Singapore Sports Council or similar institutional aquatic environments.
• Additional certifications in Public Safety, Junior Leadership, or related areas.
• Previous experience in programme or camp development is an advantage.
