Job summary

RDC RESTAURANT SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a passionate Sushi Chef to join Gatten Sushi at ION Orchard, Singapore. You will prepare authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi while upholding high standards of quality, hygiene and service in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires knife skills, seafood handling expertise, and a collaborative attitude to support daily kitchen operations and junior staff, with rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience as a Sushi Chef or in Japanese cuisine.
• Good knowledge of traditional Japanese sushi and sashimi preparation.
• Strong knife skills and seafood handling techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Positive attitude with good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki, rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes according to company standards.
• Handle, prepare and portion fresh seafood with proper food handling techniques.
• Maintain excellent food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with SFA regulations.
• Monitor ingredient quality and freshness and assist with inventory control.
• Support daily kitchen operations and work closely with the Restaurant Manager and kitchen team.
• Guide and support junior kitchen staff where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in food quality and customer satisfaction.

About the Role

RDC RESTAURANT SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is looking for a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Gatten Sushi, ION Orchard.

The successful candidate will prepare authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

Salary

SGD 3,500 – SGD 4,000 per month

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience and skills.

Working Hours

• 5.5 working days per week
• 44 hours per week
• Shift work, including weekends and public holidays
