Job summary

Job Description

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join a high-standard Japanese restaurant. The successful candidate will support the kitchen team in sushi preparation and omakase service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi and ingredients according to the restaurant's standards.
• Assist with omakase preparation and kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Ensure ingredients and food preparation areas are properly organised.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to support smooth daily operations.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in sushi preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• Experience in sushi preparation is required.
• Prior experience in omakase preparation is an advantage.
• Experience working in Singapore or Malaysia will be considered.
• Basic English communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and understand workplace instructions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle physically demanding work.
• Strong teamwork, work discipline and willingness to learn.
• Candidates will be assessed based on their relevant skills, experience and suitability for the role.
