Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Supplier Engineer to ensure suppliers consistently manufacture parts to Lam's design intent, quality standards, and delivery needs. You will own technical execution at the supplier, including qualification, readiness, and issue resolution across NPI and high-volume manufacturing.

You will partner with engineering and sourcing teams, drive PFMEA and control plans, and coordinate root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies (PFMEA, SPC, control plans, FAIR).

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities for new and existing suppliers.
• Assess supplier capability, process maturity, and quality systems prior to production release.
• Define and lock Supplier Process of Record (POR) with suppliers and Lam engineering.
• Ensure changes are controlled via Lam change control mechanisms.
• Drive PFMEA, control plans, and key feature monitoring at suppliers.
• Lead resolution of supplier quality issues (NCIs, escapes, FAIR rejections, MRB).
• Coordinate root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Act as technical owner for containment and recovery actions affecting manufacturing and customers.
• Collaborate with Product Group Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and cross-functional teams on supplier selection and ramp plans.
• Support sourcing decisions with technical assessments and supplier capability input.
• Monitor supplier performance via scorecards and data reviews.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to improve FPY and robustness.
• Participate in supplier audits and on-site assessments.
