About the role
As the Bakery Supervisor / Assistant Manager, you will support the management team in overseeing daily bakery operations and ensuring that customers receive a consistently high-quality experience. You will supervise the front-of-house team, ensure products are presented and replenished properly, manage daily opening and closing procedures, and help maintain smooth communication between the bakery and kitchen/production team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the management team in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bakery.
- Ensure the bakery is properly prepared before opening and efficiently closed at the end of the day.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the bakery.
- Ensure products are displayed attractively, properly labelled and adequately replenished.
- Monitor product availability throughout the day and coordinate with the production team on replenishment requirements.
- Ensure operating procedures and service standards are consistently followed.
- Provide warm, friendly and professional service to customers.
- Supervise and support service crew and junior team members during daily operations.
- Monitor daily sales and identify opportunities to improve sales performance.
- Ensure accurate handling of cash, card and digital payments.
About you
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in F&B, bakery, café, retail or hospitality operations.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Bakery, café or specialty food experience is an advantage.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable leading a team and taking responsibility for daily operations.
- Good understanding of POS systems, cash handling and basic inventory management.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Good attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
