Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Application Engineer in Singapore to provide technical expertise and tender support for subsea energy products. The role blends engineering know-how with commercial awareness to secure projects and build long-term customer relationships.

You will collaborate with customers, review BOMs, drawings, and specifications for bid proposals, and work with Project Management, Quality, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to ensure feasible, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline (e.g., industrial design).
• At least 5 years in application engineering, project engineering, or customer-facing technical roles with tender/bid exposure.
• Knowledge of engineering processes, quality standards, and API 6A/17D/5CT/5L/NACE MR0175.
• Ability to interpret BOMs, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong written and spoken communication for client and cross-functional engagement.
• Cost estimation ability and structured problem-solving approach under tight bid timelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to capture technical specs for tender submissions.
• Create, review, and release engineering BOMs, drawings, and specifications for bids.
• Prepare technical docs, compliance statements, and application notes for tenders.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Quality, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to align proposals.
• Provide technical input to commercial teams to shape compliant bids.
• Present products, conduct demonstrations, and address clarifications during pre/post bid discussions.
• Monitor risks and suggest improvements to tender strategies.
• Ensure adherence to HSE & Quality policies and related training.
