Keming Primary School is seeking a dedicated Student Well-being Officer to support pupils across the school day with pastoral care, conflict de-escalation and reflective conversations. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, counsellors and parents to promote a safe, supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include supervising recess, monitoring student welfare, coordinating interventions and assisting with restorative practices and home visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline and experience with primary school children.
• Experience in pastoral care, student well-being, behaviour management or counselling support is an advantage.
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts calmly and communicate with students, parents and staff with patience and clear boundaries.

Responsabilités

• Supervise students during recess, observe peer interactions, address conflicts and check in with latecomers.
• Help students regulate emotions, reflect on incidents and return to class; conduct individual check-ins and identify students who need further support.
• Document interventions, monitor support plans and coordinate follow-up with teachers, Year Heads, counsellors and parents; join home visits when needed for long-term absences.
• Facilitate detention and guided reflection; help students identify causes of behaviour and reintegrate into class.
• Run the Ke-nect Hub; organise activities, encourage student leadership and responsible use of facilities, and collect feedback to improve the space.
• Carry out other student management duties as assigned.
