School Term:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 5.00pm, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break, resulting in 9 hours of service per day, except as follows:
- The Student Care Officer's ending time on the day designated for after-school engagement activities will be 5:30pm.
o After-school engagement activities day is tentatively scheduled to fall on Tuesdays, though the exact day is subject to confirmation. The school will notify the Contractor of the confirmed after-school engagement activity day no later than 2 weeks before the commencement of the Contract.
June School Holidays:
- Selected days. The payment will be pro-rated according to number of days worked by the Personnel.
Working hours may vary according to the school’s needs and requirements. Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays and in the months of November and December.
Scope of Services:
- Student Engagement, Befriending & Mentoring: Engage, befriend and mentor students with emotional, social or well-being issues. Monitor and track progress of identified students towards the school’s desired outcomes.
- Activity Planning & Supervision at Engagement Centre: Plan and supervise activities to engage students at the engagement centre and organise school-wide activities, e.g. interest-based competitions.
- After School Engagement Activity Planning &Implementation: Co‑plan after school engagement activities for identified students and run, facilitate and supervise the sessions.
- Parent Engagement: Liaise and communicate with parents or guardians of identified students on their child's progress, well-being and participation in support programmes, in collaboration with teachers and school management
- Community Partnerships: Identify suitable community partners and enroll students in these community programmes.
- Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions, progress and incidents in accordance with school protocols.
- Safeguarding and Emergency Protocols: Follow the school's safeguarding and emergency protocols and escalate concerns regarding student safety or well-being to the appropriate school personnel in a timely manner.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection: Handle all student and family information with strict confidentiality and in compliance with relevant data protection obligations, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the school's data management policies. Personnel shall not disclose any student or family information to unauthorised parties.
- Adhoc Duties: Perform any other student related duties or school operation duties as assigned by the school management.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- (a) It is preferred to have relevant qualifications or certifications in youth work or related fields.
- (b) Must have a minimum of 1 year of working experience engaging or supporting youths in a school, social service or community setting.
- (c) Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills with youths and adults.
- (d) Possesses effective strategies to engage, befriend and mentor students with emotional, social or well-being issues.
- (e) Demonstrates emotional resilience and empathy, with the ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable students while maintaining a caring and professional disposition.
