Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) invites a senior transformation leader to govern a multi-year portfolio spanning regulatory, technology and business change. You will align executive governance, ensure credible plans, sponsor alignment and timely delivery across diverse programmes.

You will establish standards, lead health reviews and drive post-implementation benefits tracking, while mentoring Programme Managers and Analysts to build enduring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Approximately 15+ years in banking, financial services, consulting or large-scale transformation, with senior leadership of complex programmes.
• Strong understanding of banking technology, operations and regulated delivery environments.
• Experience leading an enterprise Transformation Office, Strategic Change Office or EPMO.
• Proven ability to manage multi-year, multi-jurisdiction programmes with financial management and benefits governance.
• Credibility presenting to executive committees and challenging senior stakeholders constructively.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance of the bank’s strategic transformation portfolio for executive visibility and decision making.
• Establish and maintain portfolio governance framework including initiation, prioritisation, funding, mobilisation, execution and closure.
• Define risk-based minimum standards for business cases, mobilisation, planning, RAID, and benefits tracking.
• Own executive portfolio reporting covering delivery confidence, milestones, financials, risks, and decisions.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology and Internal Audit on regulatory alignment and delivery assurance.
• Develop and coach Programme Management and Business Analysis capability with clear role definitions.
