Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead large-scale corporate banking initiatives across the APAC region. The role involves defining project scope, creating detailed roadmaps, coordinating internal and external teams, and presenting progress to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is required.
• Solid knowledge of both waterfall and agile environments (Scrum Master a plus).
• Experience delivering large-scale, multi-geography programs.
• Experience leading project teams and vendors; strong reporting skills.
• Proven ability to present status to senior management.
• Banking/finance industry experience, APAC region preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project plans with milestones, workstreams and activities.
• Track progress and provide regular status reports to the team and stakeholders.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports to management and senior stakeholders.
• Manage changes in scope, schedule and budget.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Manage stakeholder communications and expectations.
• Coordinate internal and external vendors to deliver projects.
• Set up meetings and facilitate discussions on objectives and scope.
• Define resource requirements and allocate staff across teams.
• Outline budgets and monitor costs to deliver on budget.
