Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Singapore is seeking a Vice President to lead the development and oversight of the bank's technology governance and controls framework across Singapore and APAC subsidiaries. You will ensure risk-based, compliant technology processes and controls are embedded, measurable, and sustainable.

The role requires guiding audit and regulatory engagements, challenging control weaknesses, and driving timely remediation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in IT, security, risk, or related discipline.
10–15 years of experience in technology governance, IT risk, IT controls, or information security governance.
Experience in banking or financial services and regulatory engagement is preferred.
Experience leading governance assessments and remediation oversight.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Technology Governance and Controls across Singapore and in-scope entities.
Develop, maintain, and enhance governance frameworks, policies, standards, and control requirements.
Oversee risk and control assurance activities across IT domains (SDLC, ITSM, IT operations, ITAM, IAM/IGA, cyberOps).
Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory inspections; challenge findings and ensure accurate issue assessment.
Oversee remediation governance, including action planning, milestones, and evidence review.
Prepare management reporting on governance posture, risk exposure, and remediation progress.
Collaborate with regional stakeholders to harmonize governance practices APAC-wide.
