Job summary

SHUN YI CHENG CONTRACT ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking a procurement professional to manage material purchases for daily operations and project sites in Singapore. You will source suppliers, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company procedures.

The role requires 2–3 years of procurement experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to coordinate with project teams and suppliers. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE ‘N’/‘O’ Level or Diploma in related field.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant procurement or purchasing experience.
• Experience in the construction, engineering or M&E industry will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Good negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to manage multiple purchase requests and meet tight deadlines.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Willing to travel to project sites or suppliers when required; ability to travel between sites will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, tools and supplies required for daily operations and project sites.
• Source, evaluate and maintain a list of reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Request and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing, quality and timely delivery.
• Prepare purchase orders (POs) and ensure purchases are properly approved in accordance with company procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers and project teams to coordinate material availability, delivery schedules and urgent site requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and monitor delivery status to ensure materials arrive on time.
• Review supplier quotations, invoices and delivery orders to ensure accuracy and consistency with purchase orders.
• Maintain proper procurement records, including quotations, purchase orders, invoices and supplier information.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of materials and supplies when necessary.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements where applicable.
• Resolve discrepancies involving deliveries, damaged goods, incorrect quantities or supplier performance.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval procedures and budget requirements.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project timelines.
• Perform other procurement and administrative duties as assigned by management.
