Job summary

Zscaler in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to lead key product capabilities, shaping architectural direction and guiding other engineers in a hybrid role reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.

You will design secure, reliable, and scalable systems with clear trust boundaries, mentor engineers through reviews, and collaborate with product and research teams to drive technical strategy and longer-term architecture.

Qualifications

7+ years of software-engineering experience, including ownership of complex production systems
Deep expertise in systems engineering, distributed systems, security engineering, backend platforms, or endpoint software
Proficiency in Go, Rust, and Python; experience designing secure, scalable systems

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of major product capabilities from problem definition through production rollout
Design secure, reliable, and scalable systems with clearly defined trust boundaries
Lead complex investigations and improve engineering practices, testing, and operational readiness
Mentor engineers through design and code reviews
Partner with product and research teams while contributing to technical strategy and longer-term architecture
