Job summary

Zscaler, Inc. in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to lead key product capabilities, own complex technical initiatives, and guide other engineers in a hybrid capacity based in Singapore.

You will design secure, reliable systems, mentor teammates, and collaborate with product and research teams to shape long-term architecture and strategy for AI-enabled security solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software-engineering experience with ownership of complex production systems.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, security engineering, backend platforms, or endpoint software.
• Proficient in Go, Rust, and Python.
• Experience designing systems with security, privacy, reliability requirements and observability.
• Experience managing Cloud Infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of major product capabilities from problem definition through implementation, rollout, and production operation.
• Design secure, reliable, and scalable systems with clearly defined trust boundaries, balancing security, privacy, performance, reliability, and usability.
• Lead complex investigations while improving engineering practices, testing, and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineers and provide direction through design and code reviews.
• Partner with product and research teams while contributing to technical strategy and longer-term architecture.
