Job summary

Cognizant Singapore seeks a Lab IT Support specialist to provide hands-on support for laboratory software systems and instrument integrations. You will manage daily lab activities, coordinate hardware maintenance, and liaise with regulatory bodies while ensuring GLP/GMP compliance and thorough documentation.

The role involves onboarding/offboarding lab systems, patch coordination, and collaboration with QA, IT, and lab analysts to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• GxP regulations knowledge in regulated environments.
• CSV principles, validation protocols and documentation.
• Laboratory instrumentation and operation understanding.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques used in lab testing.
• Lab software systems and data workflows familiarity.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Adherence to SOPs and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with ITSM ticketing (ServiceNow/Remedy).
• Knowledge of quality management processes (CAPA, deviation, change).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level hands & feet support for lab software systems and instrument integration platforms.
• Oversee daily lab activities including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimization.
• Act as a liaison between the lab and regulatory bodies or partner institutions.
• User management: creation, modification & deletions.
• Hardware related PC/Network coordination with Desktop support.
• Vendor communications during system hardware failures & maintenance.
• Backup and restoration for lab systems.
• Application software upgrades on standalone systems.
• Onboarding and offboarding lab systems.
• Monthly patch coordination.
• Backup & restoration for lab systems.
• Lac/es configuration.
• Update SOPs/ WIs.
• Assist in troubleshooting software and hardware issues related to lab instruments.
• Ensure accurate documentation of system configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Help maintain audit trails and support data archival processes.
• Support compliance with GLP, GMP, and FDA regulations.
• Ensure systems are validated and maintained according to SOPs and validation protocols.
• Work closely with lab analysts, QA, and IT teams to resolve system-related issues.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to improve lab workflows and system performance.
• Support Audits Queries from the LAB IT side.

• Act as a liaison between the lab and external entities (e.g., regulatory bodies, partner institutions).

• User Management Activities (E.g: User Creation, Modification & Deletions etc.)

• Hardware related PC/Network - Coordination with Desktop support team

• Vendor communications, coordination during the System Hardware failures & any other Maintenances

• Backup of the Standalone and Benchtop systems on regular basis

• Application Software upgrades on the standalone systems.

Skill Set Requirement

• Holds a Bachelor's degree

• GxP Compliance Knowledge - Strong understanding of Good Practice (GxP) regulations and their application in a regulated environment.

• Computer System Validation (CSV) - Proficient in validation principles, protocols, and documentation for computerized systems.

• Laboratory Instrumentation Expertise - Solid understanding of laboratory instruments and their operational principles.

• Analytical Techniques Knowledge - Familiarity with various analytical methods used in lab testing and analysis.

• Lab Software Systems Proficiency - Working knowledge of software platforms used to manage laboratory data and workflows.

• Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical or process-related issues effectively.

• Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration and documentation.
