Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Singapore is seeking a Facilities Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, HVAC, and utility systems across our manufacturing sites. You will manage external contractors, oversee capital improvement projects, and inspect facilities, reporting on conditions and costs, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

• Experience with fault analysis, root cause investigations, and reliability improvement projects.
• Familiarity with Singapore electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Strong project management and contractor management abilities.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical specs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates, monitors and maintains facilities mechanical components and systems including electrical equipment, HVAC, chemical, energy, water and waste water treatment.
• Hires and oversees external contractors (electricians, maintenance workers, roofers, etc.).
• Maintains and secures facilities equipment assets.
• Develops and implements capital improvement projects (construction, remodeling, renovation, maintenance).
• Performs inspections of work in progress and advises supervisors and contractors.
• Inspects facilities, prepares reports on condition and cost estimates.

Your Job:

• Operates, monitors and maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces facilities mechanical components and systems such as electrical equipment, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), chemical, energy, ultra water & waste water treatment
• Hires and oversees outside contractors such as electricians, elevator repairmen, grounds maintenance workers, painters, plumbers and roofers
• Maintains and secures facilities equipment asset
• Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design and bidding
• Conducts periodic inspections of work in progress and advises construction supervisors and contractors on plans and specifications
• Inspects existing facilities and prepares reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs and estimated cost of repairs

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities engineering, electrical engineering, or utility systems within semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, data centres, advanced manufacturing, or similar high-tech industries.
• Experience performing fault analysis, root cause investigations, and reliability improvement projects.
• Familiarity with Singapore electrical regulations, workplace safety requirements, and relevant industry standards.
• Strong project management and contractor management capabilities.
• Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
