Job summary

CEREBRAL PALSY ALLIANCE SINGAPORE is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to assess clients, plan and implement therapy, and educate caregivers. You will collaborate with teachers, caregivers and the rehabilitation team to apply evidence-based strategies in school and community settings.

You will document assessments and therapy progress in the Client Information Management System, monitor outcomes, adjust plans, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Speech and Language Pathology or Therapy from a recognized university.
• Preferred AHPC registration or eligible for registration in Singapore.
• A heart and passion to serve in the community sector.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments to determine required therapy interventions for basic cases.
• Formulate client-centred SMART goals in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
• Communicate assessment results, intervention plans and outcome measures to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide intervention to clients on one-to-one, group, or classroom settings for feeding/swallowing, language, literacy, speech, and communication skills.
• Evaluate progress and outcomes using recommended therapy outcome measures at regular intervals.
• Modify therapy plans based on client performance and motivation as well as outcome measures.
• Identify, assess, and prescribe assistive devices as required by clients to improve function.
• Liaise with and empower parents in client handling skills to ensure continuity of strategies at school and home.
• Formulate discharge plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
• Identify risks of clients, environments, situations, and equipment before, during and after client contact.
