Job summary

MCAC 8 PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant to support teachers in delivering developmentally appropriate activities for children, including those with special needs.

You will assist in daily classroom routines, observe progress, and help with behaviour guidance, mealtime supervision, and documentation under the guidance of the lead teacher. A caring, patient approach and strong communication with parents are essential.

Qualifications

• Certification in Early Childhood Care & Education or Special Needs Education is an advantage.
• Minimum O level.
• Passionate about working with children with special needs.
• Creative and inspiring with loving energy.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Be familiar with all working curriculum documents, handbooks and policy manuals.
• Knowledge in educational development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and implementing the programmes for children.
• Assist main class teacher in managing challenging children using appropriate behavioural strategies.
• Assist in teaching appropriate mealtime behaviour and supervise play times.
• Assist main class teachers in toileting needs of the children.
• Assist in administrative areas such as typing reports to support the main teacher.
• Provide input on children's progress during case conferences or discussions.
• Assist with planning, share ideas and exchange feedback with the entire team at least once a month.
• Prepare age and developmentally appropriate teaching aids.
• Evaluate and maintain records of children's development.
• Render basic first aid as and when necessary.
• Upkeep of teaching resources, prepare art and craft materials, arrangement, decorations, and learning environment.
• Use positive discipline techniques at all times.
• Maintain and build relationships with children and parents.
