Job summary

THE EARLY INTERVENTION CENTRE PTE. LTD. seeks a Relief Early Intervention Assistant Teacher for a one-term assignment in Singapore. The role supports a Developmental Preschool Programme for children with special educational needs, with daily hours 8.30 am–5.30 pm, Mon–Fri.

Applicants should hold an Advance Diploma/ Diploma/ Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or Early Intervention and have experience teaching 0–8-year-olds with special needs in group settings. Urgent shortlist.

Qualifications

• Advance Diploma, Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or Early Intervention.
• Experience teaching children with special needs (0-8 years) in a group setting.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Ability to conduct classroom observations and evaluations for children aged 0-8.

Responsibilities

• Support a class of 6 children with developmental delays or disabilities across multiple areas.
• Modify instruction and adapt to individual learning needs.
• Conduct classroom observations and evaluations for referred children.
• Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management strategies.
• Plan and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and progress reports.
• Set clear objectives for each lesson and communicate them to students.
• Demonstrate initiative and work independently.
• Show planning, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Display empathy, cooperation, patience, and kindness.
• Apply behavior modification techniques and understanding of child development.
• Maintain creativity, dedication and resourcefulness.
