Job summary

The Garcha Group in Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Associate/Commis Chef to join our hotel operations. You will set up stations, prepare ingredients and cook menu items in coordination with the kitchen team.

This role emphasizes food quality, sanitation and timely service. You will follow executive instructions, stock inventories and maintain a positive attitude while delivering consistent guest experiences. We offer Marriott-affiliated benefits, staff discounts, and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen setting or similar role.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
• Knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service and assist in cooking as needed.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team.
• Adhere to executive or sous chef’s instructions.
• Clean work stations and manage leftovers safely.
• Stock inventory and ensure timely food output.
• Maintain quality and timing of dishes for service.
• Follow nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Any other duties/tasks as requested by management
