Job summary

Sciente International Pte Ltd seeks a Solution Architect to lead end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications and web platforms. The role focuses on scalable, secure, and resilient systems using microservices and cloud-native patterns.

You will translate business requirements into architectural specs, drive technical leadership across teams, and ensure alignment with IT strategies and governance. TOGAF certification is desired and strong stakeholder management is essential.

Job Summary

Our client in a well-established industry is seeking a Solution Architect to be responsible for the end-to-end architecture of their enterprise-level applications to build web applications.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline;
• Has 10 years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, technology delivery and technical leadership;
• Proven track record in system architecture design patterns such as modularity designs, event-driven architectures, and microservices architectures;
• Strong experience in defining architecture principles, engineering standards, technology governance and best practices;
• Highly proficient in development platforms/frameworks/tooling such as .NET Core, Spring boot, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and OpenSearch;
• Good knowledge of Cloud technologies; X-as-a-Service from different Cloud service providers (CSP);
• Demonstrated ability to make and communicate architecture decisions covering scalability, performance, security, resilience, integration and maintainability;
• Strong hands-on knowledge of modern software architecture, including cloud-native solutions, microservices, APIs, distributed systems and modern application development;
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices;
• Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, common services, development platforms and software accelerators;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work well with cross-organizational teams;
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate architecture methods, concepts, standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and establishing the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design and implementation across the organisations;
• Translate business requirements, including application resiliency requirements, into application architectural specifications;
• Evaluate and recommend the use of leading edge technologies and methods, considering their practicality, technical limitations and criticality;
• Create, evaluate and implement high-level plans and design proposals for IT solutions;
• Design the architecture blueprint of the organisation's architecture set-up using multiple models;
• Manage technical project delivery - perform code reviews and ensure performance tuning and scalability;
• Participate in the forming and execution of various IT strategies;
• Participate in architecture reviews for new systems or changes to existing systems;
• Engage stakeholders (i.e. project teams and business units) to ensure solution architecture is aligned with business functional and non-functional requirements;
• Support proof-of-value initiatives to meet business and IT needs;
• Provide technical leadership to project teams in areas of solution design and application development;
• Perform technical design reviews and ensure enterprise-wide architectural standards are adhered to.
