Job summary

SCIENTE in Singapore seeks a Senior Solution Architect to own end‑to‑end architecture for enterprise systems on the digital transformation journey.

The role requires deep expertise in cloud-native, microservices, APIs, and security, with a track record of delivering large-scale software and mentoring engineering teams. You will shape architecture governance, collaborate across teams, and drive resilient, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related discipline.
• 12 years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, technology delivery and technical leadership.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale software solutions.
• Experience defining architecture principles, standards, governance and best practices.
• Ability to make and communicate architecture decisions on scalability, security, resilience and maintainability.
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native solutions, microservices, APIs, distributed systems and modern app development.
• Strong background in Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
• Experience across public cloud, private cloud and/or on‑prem environments.
• Experience building reusable frameworks, services, platforms and accelerators.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and lead R&D initiatives.
• Proven mentoring of senior engineers and architects; improving engineering maturity.
• Strong security architecture and risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and sets IT architecture direction and standards.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline;
• Has 12 years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, technology delivery and technical leadership;
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex, large-scale and mission-critical software solutions;
• Strong experience in defining architecture principles, engineering standards, technology governance and best practices;
• Demonstrated ability to make and communicate architecture decisions covering scalability, performance, security, resilience, integration and maintainability;
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of modern software architecture, including cloud‑native solutions, microservices, APIs, distributed systems and modern application development;
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices;
• Experience working across public cloud, private cloud and/or on‑premises technology environments;
• Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, common services, development platforms and software accelerators;
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and lead technology experimentation, innovation and R&D initiatives;
• Proven experience mentoring senior engineers and architects, developing technical capabilities and driving engineering maturity across teams;
• Strong understanding of security architecture, technical risk management and secure software engineering practices;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work well with cross‑organizational teams;
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate architecture methods, concepts, standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical project delivery - perform code reviews and ensure performance tuning and scalability;
• Document all solution architecture design and analysis work;
• Collaborate with vendor development team to resolve technical challenges;
• Analyze and determine performance tuning and scalability improvements of code and queries;
• Provide architecture and technical support during production incidents;
• Mentoring technical staff and raising the collective technical competencies;
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and digital trends.
