Job summary

Sciente International Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to own the end-to-end architecture of enterprise systems during the digital transformation journey. You will lead architecture direction, governance and implementation across cloud-native, microservices, and APIs with emphasis on security and scalability.

The role requires mentoring senior engineers, driving engineering maturity, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Has 12 years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, technology delivery and technical leadership.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex, large-scale and mission-critical software solutions.
• Strong experience in defining architecture principles, engineering standards, technology governance and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to make and communicate architecture decisions covering scalability, performance, security, resilience, integration and maintainability.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of modern software architecture, including cloud-native solutions, microservices, APIs, distributed systems and modern application development.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working across public cloud, private cloud and/or on-premises technology environments.
• Experience building reusable engineering frameworks, common services, development platforms and software accelerators.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and lead technology experimentation, innovation and R&D initiatives.
• Proven experience mentoring senior engineers and architects, developing technical capabilities and driving engineering maturity across teams.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, technical risk management and secure software engineering practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work well with cross-organizational teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate architecture methods, concepts, standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and establishing the direction for the IT architecture, standards, design and implementation.
• Translate business requirements, including application resiliency requirements, into application architectural specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend the use of leading edge technologies and methods, considering their practicality, technical limitations and criticality.
• Create, evaluate and implement high-level plans and design proposals for IT solutions.
• Design the architecture blueprint of the organisation's architecture set-up using multiple models.
• Manage technical project delivery - perform code reviews and ensure performance tuning and scalability.
• Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
• Collaborate with vendor development team to resolve technical challenges.
• Analyze and determine performance tuning and scalability improvements of code and queries.
• Provide architecture and technical support during production incidents.
• Mentoring technical staff and raising the collective technical competencies.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and digital trends.
