Job summary

Ambition Singapore is seeking a Software Lead to oversee technical delivery while remaining actively involved in development. You will guide engineers, influence implementation decisions and own code quality, testing and delivery across applications.

You will design, develop and mentor within an Agile team, coordinating with architects, product, QA and DevOps to ensure scalable, secure solutions and robust CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software development, incl. 3 years leading technical teams or projects.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Strong proficiency in Java, C#, or TypeScript with Angular, React or Next.js.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications, backend services and APIs.
• Lead technical planning, task estimation and delivery within an Agile team.
• Collaborate with architects to evaluate designs and implement scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold coding, security and documentation standards.
• Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, E2E, performance and reliability testing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, security scanning and deployment.
• Coordinate with product, design, QA and DevOps teams to clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
• Identify technical risks, resolve blockers and troubleshoot production issues.
• Mentor engineers and improve development practices.

• Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, end-to-end, performance and reliability testing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, security scanning and deployment.
• Coordinate with product, design, QA and DevOps teams to clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
• Identify technical risks, resolve delivery blockers and troubleshoot production issues.
• Mentor engineers and improve development practices.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of hands‑on software development experience, including 3 years leading technical teams, modules or projects.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; equivalent demonstrated professional experience may be considered.
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, C#, or TypeScript with Angular, React or Next.js.
• Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, object‑oriented programming and secure development practices.
• Practical experience with Agile delivery, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and Git.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to explain technical decisions, coordinate delivery and coach engineers.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps is advantageous.
