Job summary

The Edge Contracting Services- Singapore & Hong Kong is seeking a Java Software Engineer with at least 1 year of experience in Java EE web applications and Java UI frameworks to contribute to a legacy software modernization project at an enterprise level.

The role involves working with Mendix low-code platforms and exploring new technologies while growing your technical expertise, in a dynamic environment that supports career development.

Qualifications

• Java EE web applications and Java UI frameworks experience required.
• Experience with frameworks such as Struts, JSF, Spring, EJB, Hibernate, or iBatis.
• At least 1 year of Agile development experience.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Involve primarily in Java and Mendix / Python enterprise-level projects.
• Analysing, designing, developing, testing, documenting and maintaining IT Systems and Applications
• Provide enhancement and maintenance support to clients (internal and/or external) such as investigating and rectifying reported system shortcomings
• Perform and manage stages of the SDLC and participate in the systems review with Project Lead/Manager
• Design and document system design, architecture and propose appropriate technologies and tools required to implement systems
• Deploy systems to production and provide post-implementation support

Requirements:

• Java Expertise: At least 1 year of experience in Java EE web application and Java UI frameworks.
• Experience in frameworks such as Struts, JSF, Spring, EJB, Hibernate, or iBatis.
• Agile Experience: At least 1 year of Agile Development experience with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Python Experience is a plus
• Low-Code Platforms: Prior knowledge or experience with platforms like Mendix is a plus. Alternatively, a willingness to undergo training and certification in Mendix if required.
• Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply.

This is a 1 year contract to start, renewable and convertible to permanent.
