The role emphasizes hands-on Java/J2EE work, REST API integration, and collaboration with technical leads and stakeholders to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of software development, preferably Java applications.
• Hands-on Java/J2EE experience with frameworks like Hibernate/MVC.
• Experience in frontend and/or backend web development.
• Strong database skills with Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL/MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain web and business applications using Java technologies.
• Participate in requirement discussions and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Design, code and perform unit testing in line with standards.
• Support both backend and frontend development and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain integrations between applications and external systems.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases for development and data integration.
• Assist with packaging, release prep and deployment activities.
• Prepare technical specs, user guides, and system documentation.
• Participate in effort estimation, user story development and planning.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a software development team responsible for building and supporting business applications and web-based solutions. The successful candidate will be involved throughout the development lifecycle, including understanding user requirements, application design and development, testing, system integration, deployment and technical support. You will work closely with technical leads, senior developers and project stakeholders to deliver reliable and user-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain web and business applications using Java technologies.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of software development experience , preferably in Java application development.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java / J2EE and Java frameworks or SDKs.
• Experience in frontend and/or backend web application development .
• Good database development knowledge with technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and/or MongoDB .
• Experience developing or integrating REST APIs and familiarity with application architecture concepts such as MVC and Hibernate.
• Exposure to frontend or JavaScript technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, Node.js, React or similar frameworks .
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle, testing practices and application deployment.
• Knowledge of web application security and browser compatibility.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a project team.
• Able to manage priorities and deliver within project deadlines.
